Threading and waxing remove hair from the root, so they last roughly the same three to five weeks either way — the real difference is precision versus speed. Threading gives a sharper, more controlled line for brows and the face; waxing covers a larger area faster, which is why it's what we use on legs, back and Brazilian.
For every facial area on our list you can choose either technique at its own price, so you're not locked into one method if you'd rather try the other.
Threading Or Waxing?
Threading is the more precise of the two, which is why we use it on brows at £8 and on the small areas of the face — upper lip at £4, chin at £5, forehead and neck at £7. It removes a single row of hairs at a time and gives a cleaner line on a shape that matters.
Waxing covers a much larger area in one pass, so it is what we use on legs, arms, back and body. Full legs are £30, half legs £20, full arms £20 and a full back £18. A full body wax at £99 works out considerably cheaper than booking the areas individually.
How Long The Hair Needs To Be
Both methods need something to grip. Leave two to three weeks of growth — roughly a quarter of an inch — since your last shave or wax. Coming in freshly shaved is the most common reason an appointment cannot go ahead as booked.
Do not shave between waxing appointments if you can avoid it. Waxing pulls from the root and shaving cuts at the surface, so alternating the two resets the growth cycle and makes each wax less effective than the last. Clients who stick with waxing find regrowth genuinely gets finer over time.
Afterwards
Expect the area to stay slightly pink for a few hours. Skip hot baths, saunas, swimming pools and heavy exercise for 24 hours, and leave perfumed products off the area for the same period — freshly waxed skin has open follicles and heat or fragrance is what turns a normal result into irritation.
Start exfoliating gently from about 48 hours afterwards, two or three times a week. It is the single most effective thing you can do to prevent ingrown hairs, and it matters far more on bikini, underarm and leg waxing than most people realise.
Booking And What To Expect
Most threading services take ten to fifteen minutes, so a brow shape genuinely fits into a lunch break. Full legs or a full body wax need considerably longer — allow an hour for legs and around two for the full body package at £99.
Everything is done in a private treatment room rather than on the salon floor, which matters for the intimate services and is part of why we book them rather than take walk-ins. Your therapist will talk you through the process if it is your first time, and there is nothing awkward about saying so.
If you are booking several areas together, tell us all of them when you book rather than adding them on arrival. It changes how much time is set aside, and we would much rather allow for it properly than have to turn part of it away because the slot has run out.
