Deep tissue is our most-booked massage and the one most people mean when they just ask for "a massage" — genuine pressure aimed at knots and tension rather than a light relaxation rub. If you want something gentler, Swedish massage is the better fit; if it's specifically neck and shoulder tension from a desk job, the 15-minute Indian head massage does more in less time than people expect.
Hot stone is worth the extra time if you're not in a rush — the heat works into muscle in a way a standard massage can't replicate in the same session length.
Choosing Your Massage And Its Length
Deep tissue is the one to book if you have a specific problem — a locked shoulder, a sore lower back, tightness from training or from sitting at a desk. It is £28 for 30 minutes, £32 for 45 and £45 for a full hour. Short sessions are best used on one area; an hour lets the therapist work the whole back, neck and shoulders properly.
Swedish massage from £25 for 30 minutes or £42 for an hour is the gentler, flowing option, and the better choice if you want to relax rather than to fix something. Hot stone from £35 uses heat to release muscle before any pressure is applied, which many people find far more comfortable than deep tissue on very tight areas.
Indian Head Massage
At £18 for 15 minutes or £25 for 30, this is the shortest treatment we offer and the one most often booked in a lunch hour. It works the scalp, neck and shoulders, and it is genuinely effective for tension headaches and for the stiffness that comes from looking at a screen all day.
You stay clothed and no oil needs to go through your hair unless you want it to, so it fits around a working day in a way a full-body massage does not.
Before And Afterwards
Tell your therapist about injuries, recent surgery, pregnancy or any medication before you start, not halfway through. It genuinely changes the pressure and the areas we work, and there is nothing awkward about mentioning it.
Drink water afterwards and avoid a heavy gym session that evening. Deep tissue in particular can leave you feeling as though you have trained the following day — that is normal and settles within 48 hours. If you found the pressure too much or too light, say so during the session rather than afterwards; a good therapist would far rather adjust than have you endure it politely.
Booking Around Your Week
The 15 and 30 minute treatments are genuinely lunch-hour appointments — Indian head massage in particular needs no change of clothes and leaves no oil in your hair unless you ask for it. The 45 and 60 minute sessions are better placed at the end of a day, because deep tissue in particular leaves most people wanting to slow down rather than head back to a desk.
All massage is carried out in a private treatment room with the door closed, and you undress only to the level you are comfortable with — towels are used throughout and your therapist will step out while you get onto the couch.
If you are booking for a specific injury or a recurring problem, mention it when you book rather than on arrival. It occasionally changes which therapist is the right fit and almost always changes how the time is spent, and knowing in advance means none of your session is used up working it out.
